A heavy rain alert is now in force for Nadi, Lautoka, Ba and Rakiraki, Yasawa and Mamanuca group, Lau and Lomaiviti group, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands.
The Nadi Weather Office says a strong wind alert is also in force for Northern, Western to Southern coastal areas of Viti Levu including Rakiraki, Ba, Lautoka, Nadi, Sigatoka, Navua until Suva, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti group and over land areas for Yasawa and Mamanuca group.
They say an active trough of low pressure is expected to affect the country from the West from today until tomorrow night.
