Graduates who are not employed and those who were previously employed in the hospitality and tourism sector today attended a training workshop to get more value out of coconuts.

40 farmers, women and youths from the Central Division who rely on coconut plantations for their livelihood also attend this workshop which was facilitated by Fiji Crop and Livestock Council and conducted by the Ministry of Agriculture.

The workshop focused on the sustainability of income, health and nutrition, food security and livelihood of farming families in Fiji.

Fiji Crop and Livestock Council CEO Jiu Daunivalu says the participants shared their knowledge about traditional and modern use of the coconut, from the leaves to the roots, for food, shelter, fuel, decoration and medicine.
