Attorney General Siromi Turaga says they are looking at attending district council meetings, and tikina meetings this year to increase the government's visibility to the people.
While highlighting the achievements of the Attorney General’s Office and the Ministry for Justice in 2023, Turaga says the Government is mostly represented in provincial council meetings, but this year, he would like to go down to the Tikina meetings and district meetings as the audience is much larger.
He says one of the things he learned after his first year of service is that a lot of people do not know the type of services provided by the government.
Turaga says this leads to misinformation and ideologies that are being shared on social media.
The Attorney General says to ensure people understand their role, they should improve their visibility.
Turaga adds 2023 was not an easy year as they had taken over from a leadership that has been on the reign of leadership for the past 16 years.
