To give back to the community, the Gospel Primary School Social Club conducted a clean-up campaign this morning along the Suva foreshore, starting from the Civic Towers to the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service.
Head Teacher Jope Ravolaca says the idea of their clean-up is what they can do for the community because the community has done a lot for the Fijian people.
He says it is great to work to contribute to the cleanliness of the environment.
Ravolaca says they collected around 30 bags of rubbish in about 2 hours.
Most of these were lunch packs and liquor cans and bottles.
He adds they have also noticed that kitchen waste is being dumped at the Suva Foreshore, and he is urging people to dispose their waste in the appropriate areas.
The Head Teacher is also calling on the Suva City Council if they can provide garbage bins at the Suva foreshore because it’s one area where they collected most of the rubbish this morning.
The Gospel Primary School Social Club includes teachers and ancillary staff of the school.
