SODELPA Leader Viliame Gavoka claims that a lot of professionals in the resource sector and the Ministry of Lands and Mineral Resources are leaving because they are de-motivated and have found better opportunities but Minister Jone Usamate says Gavoka should come to parliament with facts and evidence and not the figments of his imagination.

During the debate on the review of the Consolidated Annual Reports for the Ministry of Lands and Mineral Resources August 2016 to July 2017 and August 2017 to July 2018, Gavoka says there is a lack of appreciation in the Ministry of Lands and Mineral Resources.

He claims only six technical staff are monitoring 79 gravel extractors.

In response, Usamate says Gavoka has come to parliament to say people are leaving the Ministry without any evidence.

He says parliamentarians should not come to parliament with what they hear around the grog bowl or what people whisper to them on the street.
