Farmers from the interior of Namosi and Naitasiri have made the long trek to Suva with some of them stopping to sell their produce at Lami Town.
Salote Turner told fijivillage News that selling dalo, cassava, and other produce is the only way she can support her children's education.
She says her eldest daughter is studying at the University of the South Pacific, and the other four children are still in secondary and primary school at Wainimakutu in Namosi.
Turner says since both, she and her husband are farmers, it requires commitment and dedication to maintaining their farms for the betterment of their children.
The mother of five says she only comes to Lami on Sundays to sell her produce.
Turner says she always reminds her children to work hard in their education and to recognise the struggles their parents have endured so that they can strive for a better future and become successful in life.
