Four athletes from the Fiji Judo Association will have to attend the International Training Camp straight after the Tokyo Grand Slam which will have Olympic and World Championship medalists on the mat.
Fiji Judo athlete Tevita Takayawa has been preparing well for the Tokyo Grand Slam at the Ryutsu Keizai University in Japan while Shanice Takayawa has been doing all her training in Fiji.
Athletes attending the International Training Camp are Tevita Takayawa, Shanice Takayawa, Josateki Veikoso and Gerard Takayawa.
The camp is important in terms of getting in tough Olympic-level intensity sessions in preparation for 2023 competitions.
The athletes say even though it will be a tough tournament, they will back themselves up and do their best.
The Grand Slam Tokyo 2022 will be held on the 3-4 December followed by a week at the International Training Camp.
