An actor with links to Fiji who is a former Gospel High School student, has made his debut in the popular New Zealand series, Shortland Street.

David Tiko fulfilled his dreams after he finally debuted on television as a guest character on the show. Tiko says that making the role special is important because he gets to play an iTaukei named Filipe.

He says this is one opportunity that rarely comes and he is grabbing it with both hands and making the most of it.

Tiko says the occasion is even better because he plays the part with his niece, Sala and his special guest who presented his acting certificate at the Actors Program Marianne Infante.

The actor says he will be representing his country, nationality, and people on the big screen and dedicated his success to his late mother.

Tiko adds he wished his mother who has been his biggest fan was alive to see him be part of Shortland Street.

The episode aired in New Zealand last night.
