Formal complaint lodged about comments made online regarding athletes in the Coke Games

A concerned citizen, Alex Cavuilati has lodged a formal complaint with the Online Safety Commission regarding some highly inappropriate and disturbing comments made online about minors, specifically on the photos of young athletes in the Coca Cola Games.

One particular comment by a person’s account highlighting a young male athlete has also been screenshot with the complaint.

Cavuilati says these comments are sexual in nature and deeply concerning, as they target children who should be celebrated for their talent and discipline – not objectified or sexualized.

He says such behaviour is not only morally reprehensible but potentially criminal under the Online Safety Act.

Cavuilati says it promotes the predatory behaviour, endangers the well being of minors and creates unsafe online environments.

He has called on the Commission to investigate the matter, take appropriate action against the individuals responsible, and ensure stronger safeguards are in place to protect our children from such exploitation.

We have sought comments from the Online Safety Commission. They are yet to respond.
