Fiji Rugby Union CEO, John O’Connor say while they are excited Fiji will get to play the All Blacks twice this year, the Union is also cautious since Fiji is going through this second wave of COVID-19.

O’Connor says in Fiji, the priority is to support all the Government restrictions and comply with instructions as we fight to control the spread of this virus, so we can return to COVID contained status.

He says the welfare and safety of the players in Fiji and abroad is paramount and their High-Performance Unit General Manager Simon Raiwalui and the coaching panel have started to initiate discussion with all their players in relation to the preparation for the two tests.

O’Connor adds they will be liaising and working with World Rugby and the respective clubs of the players in relation to their release and they hope to prepare well leading into the two matches.

The Flying Fijians will take on the All Blacks on July 10th and then on the 17th.
