A flash flood warning is now in force for low lying areas and flood prone areas within Rakiraki and Ba catchment while a flash flood alert is now in force for flood prone areas, small streams and low lying areas for the rest of the Western Division.

Expect damaging gale force winds up to about 74 kilometres per hour with gusts to 100 kilometres per hour.
They say expect winds to ease and become strong and rough to very rough seas from later today.
