As the Digicel Fiji Kulas get ready to take on the Solomon Islands in the OFC Nations Cup semi final tonight, coach Lisa Cole says we need to make a statement and say to everybody that Fiji needs to be on the map when you talk about women’s football in the Pacific.

Cole says Fiji rose up and took the runners up spot in 2018 but there has to be consistency.

Cole says the team has realised they have the strength within themselves.

She says Vanisha Kumar has worked really hard and she sets the tone on the team’s preparation.

She adds Kumar’s consistent hard work is unmatched.

The coach says Trina Davis is dangerous on the flanks and coming across and getting her own shots.

The Kulas take on the Solomon Islands at 7.30pm tonight.

Samoa will face Papua New Guinea in the first semi-final at 4pm.

The final will be played at 7pm Saturday.

The winner of the Women's Nations Cup will qualify for the inter-confederation playoff for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The playoff will be played in New Zealand next year.

The inter-confederation playoffs will determine the final three qualification spots for the FIFA Women's World Cup.

It will feature 10 teams from 6 confederations split into three groups, with the winner of each group qualifying for the Women's World Cup.
