Fiji kicks off HK 7s campaign thrashing Japan 59 – 12

The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team have kicked off their Hong Kong 7s campaign with a massive 59 - 12 win over Japan.

The team was slightly rattled in the first half after Japan scored seconds into the game, however Vuiviawa Naduvalo hit back for Fiji immediately.

Jerry Matana, Waisea Nacuqu, Manu Maisamoa, Tira Welagi, Pilipo Bukayaro got a try each, while Iowane Teba scored a hattrick

In other matches, Ireland beat Kenya 28 – 12, Argentina thumped Canada 36 – 0 and USA beat Spain 15 – 14. Fiji’s next pool match is against Spain at 4.15pm tomorrow and we will later face USA at 8pm tomorrow.

The cup quarterfinals will begin at 3.25pm Sunday, the cup semifinals will begin at 7.45pm Sunday and the cup final will kick off at 11pm Sunday.
