Fiji and Japan to continue strengthening capacity building

Fiji and Japan have enjoyed a good bilateral relationship over the past years in terms of capacity building and Japan will continue to support Fiji in terms of their needs.

This was shared by the Ambassador of Japan to Fiji Rokuichiro Michii during the Emperor's 65th birthday last night at his residence in Tamavua.

Michii stressed that the nations have so many common challenges from climate change and disaster response.

He says there is so much room for progressions and Japan is looking forward to it.

Michii says he wants to prioritise youth exchanges in terms of cultural exchange programs and investments in youths' and children’s education.

Michii reiterated the wide range of potential in Fiji and will collaborate more with the government of the day to address Fiji's needs.

He says the celebrations was a good time to talk about suggestions in any areas Fiji and Japan can work towards national building and capacity building.

President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu and his wife were also present at the event together with other members of parliament.
