Fiji Rugby extends partnership with Fiji Kava for another 3 years

Fiji Rugby extends partnership with Fiji Kava for another 3 years

The Fiji Rugby Union has extended its partnership with medicinal kava health and wellness company, Fiji Kava for another 3 years.

While officiating at the announcement of the sponsorship extension, Fiji Rugby Administrator Simione Valenitabua says the union is happy to be associated with Fiji Kava.

Valenitabua says on the other side of the argument, that kava has made a huge contribution to the economy and the country’s GDP.

He says apart from that, kava has contributed to the livelihood of our rural farmers and that was one of the main contributing factors to Fiji Rugby agreeing to extend this relationship with Fiji Kava.

Fiji Rugby General Manager Commercial Avnil Pratap says they are thrilled with this announcement as this collaboration has been instrumental in providing our national rugby teams and grassroots community with a reliable source of premium kava.

Pratap says Fiji Kava’s commitment to quality and its uniquely formulated noble kava varieties align perfectly with the union’s mission to support the physical and mental well-being of the players.

He adds this partnership is not only enhancing the well-being of the players but also contributing to the growth and prosperity of local communities involved in the cultivation of kava.

Fiji Kava’s Founder and Executive Director Zane Yoshida says they are excited about this collaboration and are honoured to support Fiji Rugby for the next three years.

Yoshida says the Flying Fijians had a successful campaign at the recent Rugby World Cup in France and the Fiji Men’s 7s side will be looking to replicate their gold medal-winning performance at this year’s Paris Olympic games and they are excited to be a part of this journey.

He says in Fiji, rugby and kava are both intertwined in our DNA and they are delighted to announce that Fiji Kava and Taki Mai will remain as the official kava of the national men’s and women’s teams.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Airways Men’s and Women’s teams left our shores yesterday for the HSBC Perth 7s that will be held this Friday to Sunday.
