The Fiji Cancer Society has today received a donation of $41,019 from the Suva Retailers Association that will help them purchase oxygen concentrators for more than 300 patients they currently look after.
Society CEO Belinda Chan says the money was collected during a Bushells Fiji's Biggest Morning Tea event hosted at Holiday Inn.
She says this will allow them to kick start the oxygen project to ensure they have oxygen supply available at the office but at the same time be able to have biomedical support with regards to repairs and maintenance of the equipment.
Chan says they have collected about $70,000 through the morning tea events this year.
Suva Retailers Association President, Jitesh Patel says they have set a record for raising the largest amount of money through the morning tea they hosted.
Patel adds they are grateful for the work the Fiji Cancer Society is doing and they hope to partner with them again next year.
