The Ministry of Economy will be providing food packs to families in the Muanikoso lockdown area from either Wednesday or Thursday this week.

Coordinator Kamal Gounder they will wait on the Ministry of Health to let them know on the number of families that need assistance.

Gounder says they will then mobilize their teams to arrange ration packs for these people.

The area has been locked down after the Ministry of Health confirmed three more cases of COVID-19 from that area yesterday.

Permanent Secretary Dr James Fong says no one residing in the area will be allowed to leave.

Dr Fong says those outside of the area who reside in the community will be allowed to re-enter provided they acknowledge they will not be allowed to leave.
