Fiji Rugby Union CEO John O'Connor confirms that they are in the final stages of the selection process for the new coach of the Fiji Airways men's national 7s team.
He says they expect the announcement to be made in the next few weeks.
No further details have been released.
The application period for the new coach closed on the 13th of last month.
Gareth Baber's last official day with the FRU was last Thursday.
The FRU is looking for someone with a minimum World Rugby-certified Level 3 Coaching Certification and 3 years of coaching experience at top-level competition and coaching at the international level.
The Malaga 7s will be played in Spain from the 21st to the 23rd of next month.
