The Fiji Revenue and Customs Service collected a net revenue of $190 million in December 2021 which was the highest monthly collection since Fiji’s first COVID-19 case in March 2020.
This was highlighted by the new Chief Executive Officer of FRCS Mark Dixon when questioned in a press conference on the forecast on revenue collection.
He says they had forecast revenue of $132 million for December but they are happy that their revenue collections significantly increased.
Dixon says these figures should bring confidence in business and individuals.
He says they are optimistic about the future and they hope the worst is behind them.
He says it is all about going forward and ease of doing business.
Dixon says they need to trust people to do the right things and to register for tax, file on time, be accurate on filing and pay on time.
