FNU students receive clothing support through new Value City partnership

FNU students receive clothing support through new Value City partnership

Good news as over a hundred students from the Fiji National University received assistance from Value City in the form of clothes and shoes, helping them face their academic and professional journeys with confidence and pride.

While speaking during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between FNU and Value City, Executive Director of the University Foundation, Karen Lobendahn, says since the launch of the foundation’s initiative known as the Veilomani Closet last month, it has already made a meaningful difference in the lives of students at two major campuses, Natabua and Namaka.

Lobendahn says its purpose is rooted in a single, powerful belief that no student should be left behind due to financial hardship or a lack of basic necessities.

She adds the Veilomani Closet initiative is more than just a wardrobe; it is a symbol of dignity and care.

Value City Manager Vera Chute says this partnership reflects a shared commitment to uplift, empower and inspire the students of Fiji.

Chute says such a partnership is a gift of hope, extended not only to the students but also by Value City employees and their families, toward supporting the nation’s future leaders.

She adds by providing access to quality clothing, they are offering students the opportunity to enter classrooms and interviews with confidence and approachability.
