Fiji National Provident Fund’s COVID-19 Home Loan Assistance Program which was scheduled to close tomorrow has been extended till 31st October 2021.
FNPF CEO Viliame Vodonaivalu says a total of $11.7 million has been paid for 1,215 members home loans and they continue to receive expressions of interest regarding this relief.
He says 1,163 applications were lodged by the banks and lending institutions through the portal while 52 were submitted manually.
Vodonaivalu says their COVID-19 relief or assistance are targeted measures to assist those members whose livelihoods have been directly impacted by the pandemic.
He adds there are other commitments that these members have which includes home loans.
Vodonaivalu says they appreciate the fact that majority of their members have just come out of restrictive movements and will need some time to organize requirements needed for this assistance.
He says they will continue to work with them to secure their properties. Members whose employment have been impacted by COVID-19 will qualify if they have an existing moratorium or home loan holiday arrangement with their bank or lending institution.
These members are encouraged to contact their lenders directly and ensure that the required documents are provided.
