The Lololo Project which is aimed at helping vulnerable members of the community save excess money they have for future needs was launched today by the Fiji Council of Social Services.

FCOSS Executive Director Vani Catanasiga says they are looking at particular areas like Lomaiviti, Kadavu, Nadroga, Ba, Rakiraki and Bua.

She says through the project, there will be people who will be placed in different communities as livelihood coordinators.

Catanasiga adds these livelihood coordinators will be trained trainers in financial literacy and will deliver financial literacy training at the community level.

She also says they will migrate their services to digital financial platforms by Vodafone and Digicel.

Catanasiga further says they will also offer business services advisory support.

She revealed that this is a new component that will act as a referral point for clients that need advice on a business plan or how to apply for a government grant or access business services.
