FCCC limit sale of essential items to two per customer

FCCC limit sale of essential items to two per customer
FCCC CEO Joel Abraham

The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission has limited the sale of essential items, like biscuits and canned goods, to two per customer to curb panic or bulk buying.

CEO Joel Abraham says their teams are monitoring supermarkets around the clock to ensure that there is ample stock of essential items available for all Fijians.

He says their teams are also working hard, 24/7, to make sure that Fijian consumers are not being taken advantage of during this time of emergency and they are on the ground monitoring for traders who are price gouging and hoarding.

Price gouging is the practice of raising prices on certain types of goods and services to an unfair level, especially during a state of emergency.

Abraham is urging Fijians to think about others before they buy more than they absolutely need.
