To manage the high demand, the Ministry of Immigration has announced that the Suva Immigration Office will have extended operating hours from 8.30am to 5pm from this week until next week, while all other offices will continue with their normal operating hours.
The Ministry says all urgent applications must be submitted via an online appointment to ensure prioritised processing.
They say these measures demonstrate the Ministry’s commitment to improving service delivery, reducing delays, and ensuring that every Fijian receives a reliable, efficient and customer-focused passport service.
The Ministry of Immigration has advised the public of key operational adjustments aimed at improving service delivery and ensuring faster, more efficient processing of passport applications nationwide.
Daily appointment slots on the Online Passport Application Portal have been increased, and this improvement aims to provide better access for applicants, reduce waiting times, and ensure a smoother and more predictable service experience.
The Ministry will continue its no-walk-in policy, however, walk-ins may be accepted on a case-by-case basis for genuine emergencies or exceptional circumstances.
They add that this is necessary to control queues, maintain order, and ensure that all services are delivered through confirmed appointments.
