Empowering women enables positive changes in people’s lives, families, villages, communities and the nation.
First Lady, Emily Lalabalavu highlighted this during the closing of the Women Invigorating the Nation (WIN) Convention that was held in Suva.
Lalabalavu says that such a convention unlocks initiatives that alleviate poverty, achieve inclusive economic growth and meet the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
She says such a convention allows women to share experiences, learn from one another, network and inspire one another.
She also commended the outcomes from the convention, which is the formulation of strategies to achieve equal representation and opportunities in the workplace.
