Following the fire at the Gokals Office and Warehouse in Toorak, Suva, National Fire Authority CEO, Puamau Sowane says firefighters faced significant challenges containing the blaze from midnight through to this morning.
Sowane says that eventually they managed to control the fire.
The CEO says reports from the scene indicate that efforts to control the fire were made more difficult by the presence of electrical appliances stored inside the warehouse.
He further says that at this stage, they are unable to provide an estimated cost of the damage to the building.
The CEO adds that the investigation will start soon.
