An 82-year-old woman from the Central Division who had been bedridden with multiple comorbidities for a number of years has been confirmed as Fiji’s latest COVID-19 death.
It has been two months since a COVID-19 death has been reported in this country.
The Health Ministry says this woman had a history of shortness of breath and fever and was taken to the CWM hospital on the 18th of this month in severe distress.
After four days of admission to the COVID-19 ICU, she sadly passed away on Sunday.
This woman was fully vaccinated but had not received a booster dose.
