Fiji Aid Melbourne has donated a set of 150 computers, 10 laser printers and 100 mouses and keyboards to the Ministry of Education.

While receiving the computers, Minister for Education Rosy Akbar says these computers will be given to those unfortunate schools that were severely affected by TC Harold and in the process fulfill the eLearning needs of rural children.

Akbar has assured she will personally deliver the computers to the schools.

She also says this handing over is the beginning of a relationship which will be strengthened further to benefit our children.

The Fiji Aid Melbourne was formed in Victoria by various institutions such as religious organisations, sporting groups and Hindi radio announcers to help people who had suffered losses during the floods of January 2009.

While handing over the computers, Fijian representative for the Melbourne based organisation, Anup Kumar says he hopes that this donation will impact the future of the nation because education is a key element for the way forward.
