The Ministry of Education is currently investigating the matter where some teachers from Nasinu Gospel Primary School were allegedly told to leave the school compound last Friday as they were against the school demanding a levy from parents.

This has been confirmed by the Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro while responding to questions by fijivillage News where teachers had claimed that the Head Teacher threatened them and then chased them out of the school compound.

Teachers have told fijivillage News that during last week's meeting between the teachers and the Education Ministry, it was confirmed that none of these teachers will be transferred to other schools until the investigation is completed.

The Education Minister had earlier stated that no school should levy any enrollment or re-enrollment fee for any child in the 2024 academic year.

This after the enrollment form required the parents to donate $20 per term to cater for student-related expenses. Radrodro says the Permanent Secretary for Education is still awaiting the investigation report from the team.
