As parents of Year 8 students at Assemblies of God (AOG) Primary School seek answers after expressing frustration over the lack of seating on the first day of school—leaving some children standing during classes—the Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro, has stepped in to assist.

Speaking to fijivillage News, the Minister said it is the responsibility of school stakeholders to ensure that proper furniture, including desks and chairs, is provided for students entering the school system.

He stated that the Ministry of Education (MOE) will have to intervene and provide the necessary furniture to create a proper learning environment for the students.

The Minister for Education also emphasized that his Ministry will closely monitor schools to ensure every student has equal access to resources, preventing any disadvantage in how classroom space is allocated.

While raising their concerns, parents also questioned the school’s management and leadership, including the head of the school and the manager, for failing to adequately prepare for the new school year.
