Easter commemorates Jesus Christ’s sacrifice for humanity on the cross and the miracle of his resurrection.
FiijiFirst Leader, Voreqe Bainimarama, highlighted this in his Easter message, saying that Easter is the most powerful story of love in the Christian faith, and that every Fijian can appreciate. Bainimarama says Jesus lived for all of us, he died for all of us, and rose from the dead to show us that love and hope are eternal.
The former Prime Minister says that renewal is always possible and the promise of redemption and eternal life.
He says as we enjoy this long holiday with our loved ones, let us strive to live as nobly as Jesus lived.
The Party Leader says let us love one another, irrespective of our backgrounds and let us love each other without exception as powerful as Jesus did.
