In other matches, Brentford and Everton played out a 1-1 draw, while Manchester United edged past Ipswich 3-2, Manchester City claimed a narrow 1-0 win over Tottenham and Nottingham Forest held Arsenal to a goalless draw.
With this win, Liverpool strengthens its hold at the top of the table with 67 points.
Arsenal remains in second with 54 points, followed by Nottingham Forest with 48 and Manchester City in fourth place with 47 points.
