The People's Alliance has lodged a police report against the General Secretary of the FijiFirst Party, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum at Totogo Police Station in Suva today.
People's Alliance General Secretary, Sakiasi Ditoka filed the police report this afternoon.
They want Sayed-Khaiyum to be investigated for allegedly inciting racial hatred and violence in view of his public statements at a press conference in Suva yesterday, in which he claimed some Indo-Fijian families in Ba were victims of violence on Tuesday, and linked these to what he termed as the "divisive nature" of PA Leader Sitiveni Rabuka.
Ditoka says Rabuka did not encourage division, in fact the people are relieved and thankful that change can be affected and is now imminent.
Ditoka adds that the People's Alliance has never orchestrated or directed any violence or division.
He says all they have been pleading for is calm, restraint and respect.
Meanwhile, Police Commissioner, Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho confirms that they have received Ditoka’s complaint.
