Discipline will be a major focus for the FIJI Water Flying Fijians as they prepare to take on Japan in the final of the Asahi Super Dry Pacific Nations Cup this Sunday.
This follows their semi-final victory over Canada, where the Fijians were penalized with two cards; one red and one yellow, raising concerns about on-field discipline.
Flying Fijians captain Tevita Ikanivere stressed the importance of tightening up in this area, saying that such infractions could be costly against a team like Japan.
When asked about their upcoming opponents, Ikanivere acknowledged Japan's fast-paced and structured style of play.
He says Japan loves to play high-tempo rugby and are very constructive in their game.
He adds they are a formidable side, but they are ready.
Head Coach Mick Byrne also highlighted areas of improvement, particularly in scrums.
Byrne says their scrums were a bit shaky against Canada, so they will be working on that ahead of the final.
The FIJI Water Flying Fijians will face Japan in the PNC final this Sunday at 1.35pm.
