Despite the challenges, Daulomani Home continues to provide hope for abandoned individuals

Despite the challenges faced, Tavakubu, Lautoka based Daulomani Home continues to serve as a beacon of hope for those abandoned by families, operating through the love and support of those who volunteer and donate.

During a Talanoa session with Minister of Women, Children and Social Protection, Sashi Kiran, Daulomani Home Founder Edwina Biyau shared how the home is sheltering 87 residents, most of whom are abandoned elderly, street dwellers, women, children including 5 babies, all of whom rely on the Home for food and safety.

During the visit by the Ministry, Kiran donated a set of kitchen items to the home, in the hope of helping improve the daily lives of the residents and supporting the home’s operations.

Daulomani Home is working in partnership with the Ministry to assist with sustainable pathways for the residents including economic opportunities.

The home was previously assisted with solar panels through the Department of Social Welfare as well as an access road which will be provided through the assistance of the Ministry of Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management.

Kiran expressed her deep gratitude to the Founder of the Home, Biyau, for her unwavering dedication and compassion towards those abandoned by their families.
