US based Digicel Fiji Women’s midfielder, Trina Davis who has links to Viseisei, Vuda says Fiji has always been in her heart and is hoping to achieve something big with the team.

Davis started playing in the Fiji team at the tender age of 16.

The 20-year-old says her mother is originally from Lautoka and she is honoured to represent Fiji despite being born in Washington, USA.

She also says her mother, father and sister have travelled to Fiji to support her and the team in the OFC Women’s Nations Cup.

Davis adds if they follow everything their coach has taught them and stay focused, they will be able handle the situation and achieve their objective.

Davis also says they have been on a strict diet and a sleep schedule.

The Kulas will take on Cook Islands in the third quarter final of the OFC Women’s Nations Cup at 4pm today at the HFC Bank Stadium.

Meanwhile, Papua New Guinea will take on Samoa in the first semi final at 4pm on Wednesday. Samoa defeated New Caledonia 4-2 while Papua New Guinea beat Tonga 3-2 in penalties in the first two quarter finals.

The winner of the Women's Nations Cup will qualify for the inter-confederation playoff for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. The playoff will be played in New Zealand next year.

The inter-confederation playoffs will determine the final three qualification spots for the FIFA Women's World Cup.

It will feature 10 teams from 6 confederations split into three groups, with the winner of each group qualifying for the Women's World Cup.
