Island Magic Daveta 7s Rugby has been crowned the 2024 Fijian Cup 7s competition winner after defeating Ratu Filise 19-7 in a thrilling final this afternoon at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka.
Daveta 7s coach and former Nadroga and national rep Rupeni Nasiga says getting the opportunity to participate in this tournament helps them showcase the players’ talent, especially the younger ones.
Nasiga says their preparations included a two-week tour to Singapore and it has finally paid off.
Meanwhile, in other categories, Nahigatoka defeated Cuvu Black 17-7 to claim the Legends title, Tovolea edged Sinibiau 12-7 to win the U85s title and Tuva defeated Send Pink 21-5 to claim the women’s title.
