Grace Road Fiji President, Daniel Kim’s Vanuatu passport has been cancelled as the Vanuatu government believes it was obtained by means of willfully false or misleading statement.

In a letter to Kim obtained by fijivillage News, the Vanuatu Immigration Department says Kim’s passport was issued on the 27th October 2023 to be expired on the 26th October, 2033.

They say before that, a warrant of arrest was issued against Kim by the Korean National Police and the Interpol Red Notices.

The Department says the Interpol Red Notice issued against Kim was published on the 31st July, 2018.

They say the Vanuatu Passport Office was not made aware of this before the passport was being issued, which would have led them to refuse to issue the passport.

Kim is required to surrender his Vanuatu passport to the Vanuatu Immigration Department.

He remains in Fijian immigration custody as he has been declared a prohibited immigrant making his presence in Fiji unlawful after the South Korean Government nullified his passport.

The Lautoka High Court has granted Kim an interim stay until the 15th of this month when it rules in a constitutional redress matter.

This means Kim and three others with him cannot be deported at least until the 15th.
