Students of Drasa Secondary School have been urged to lead with integrity, set positive examples and take a strong stand against drugs as they take up leadership roles in their school.

While speaking at the school's Prefects Investiture Ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Professor Biman Prasad reminded the newly appointed prefects that leadership is not about titles or privileges but about service, responsibility, and inspiring others.

He says their selection reflects the trust their teachers and peers have placed in them.

Prasad encourages them to uphold discipline, compassion and fairness while creating an inclusive environment in the school.

He says while there is a rise in drug-related cases in Fiji, students must stay away from drugs and report any suspicious activities to their teachers.

He says drugs destroy lives and have no place in schools or society.

The Deputy Prime Minister reassured students of the government's commitment to education.

He says the government had also replaced the Tertiary Education Loan Scheme with fully funded scholarships to ensure that students can pursue higher education without debt.
