Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad highlighted this during the Girmit Night at the Vodafone Nasinu Festival. Professor Prasad says cultural nights allow us to enjoy and celebrate the rich cultural heritage in a multi-religious and multi-ethnic society.
The Deputy Prime Minister says it is important to recognise the rich history of various cultures and traditions.
Professor Prasad further says the government wants to work with the communities to empower the NGOs, community organisations and private sector because they believe working together can produce good things for the country.
He adds that Nasinu Town and its urban boundary are increasingly becoming an important economic hub of the Central Division.
