Sevu Reece scored a brilliant try that helped the Crusaders beat the Reds 37-15 and book a spot in the Super Rugby Pacific semi-final.
Crusaders other tries were scored by Will Jordan, Richie Mo'unga and Tamaiti Williams.
The win came at a high cost with in-form Ethan Blackadder unlikely to have any further involvement in their campaign due to a shoulder injury.
Suliasi Vunivalu and Filipo Daugunu scored tries for the Reds.
In other quarterfinals, the Chiefs will face the Waratahs at 4.35pm today, defending champions Blues will battle it out with the Highlanders at 7.05 tonight and the Brumbies will play the Hurricanes at 9.45 tonight.
