The Crusaders have been forced to cut staff as the COVID-19 pandemic forces the Super Rugby champions to reduce overheads.
Stuff.co.nz reports that Crusaders CEO Colin Mansbridge would not specify which staff members would be let go, but it is understood those working in medical, academy, logistics and media liaison roles were most at risk of losing their positions.
The CEO stated in a statement that the Crusaders were not immune to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and, unfortunately, they have to make changes to their operational model, which has impacted on the roles of some staff.
He said the Crusaders would not be commenting further as good people have been affected and their employment matters are private.
