60-year-old Adi Kelera Kuboulevu who has been selling crops and vegetables in Vatuwaqa for the past 10 years says her sacrifices has helped her to support her and her husband financially and contribute to the Vanua and the church.

Kuboulevu says her 72-year-old husband supports her in planting dalo and cassava that she sells on Sundays in front of Wailea Supermarket in Vatuwaqa.

She says apart from selling crops like dalo, cassava, tomatoes, moca, and chillies she has opened a canteen and sells frozen food and other essential items.

Kuboulevu says she is also part of the South Pacific Business Development group in her village.

The mother of the former national 7s rugby player Alipate Ratini, she travels from Wainimakutu Village in Namosi to Suva to sell her crops and other things on Sundays.

The 60-year-old says the minimum amount she can earn is $500.

She further says the only challenges they face is that they are getting old and are not able to do much work to support their everyday living.

She encourages everyone to utilise the land and resources available around us without relying on anyone else to support our daily needs.
