Korean Ambassador to Fiji hands over $80,000 cheque to Nabua Primary School.

Close to 900 students of Nabua Primary School will benefit from $80,000 worth of assistance provided by the Korean Embassy.

School Manager Joeli Naicavacava says the assistance includes educational equipment, learning tools and construction material.

While acknowledging the Embassy for their donations, Naicavacava says the school was in need of upgrading the classrooms to create a healthy environment for the students before they resume classes.

He says there are a number of students who come from poor families and the Korean Embassy has continued its support for these children to have a fair chance to learn and become good citizens.

Naicavacava adds the supply of new desks and chairs will boost the learning capacity and revive the learning spirit that they had before this pandemic.

The Korean Ambassador to Fiji, Park Young-Kyu says improving education is one of the three main areas of cooperation for Korea towards Fiji including climate change and strengthening health care infrastructure.
