Local music group Ciwa Music Fiji, made up of artists Peni Roqara also known as Ju Ben, Asinate Mekemeke, and Aisea Buliruarua, are thrilled and honoured to be performing at this year’s Fiji Showcase.
Roqara, who hails from Tailevu, told fijivillage News that the music landscape in Fiji has changed and performing live now comes with high expectations.
He says people expect the best from you, and while it's a challenge, it is also part singing at live stages.
Roqara says they have been putting in long hours of preparation, especially knowing how big last year’s turnout was.
Mekemeke, the only female member of the group, expressed her excitement about taking the centrestage.
She says she cannot wait to do what she loves most and sing her heart out.
Mekemeke says it’s all about spreading positive vibes and connecting with the crowd through music.
FM96 radio personality and former Paradise Roots band member, Aisea Buliruarua, is confident they will make a strong impression.
He says they are ready to bring the energy and get the crowd going.
He encourages everyone to come out with your families, enjoy the food stalls, explore the booths, and let the kids have fun on the rides.
Fiji Showcase 2025 opens at midday this Friday and will run for nine days, wrapping up next Saturday.
Tickets are $4 for adults and $3 for children under 12.
