The Black Caps despite losing three early wickets kept their composure.
Pakistan's chase really kicked into gear once the game was lost.
New Zealand is leading Group A with two points.
India will play Bangladesh tomorrow at 9pm.
Group B consists of Afghanistan, Australia, England and South Africa.
