Acting Chief Justice Salesi Temo and Acting Director of Public Prosecutions John Rabuku

Chair of the Judicial Services Commission, Acting Chief Justice Salesi Temo and Acting Director of Public Prosecutions, John Rabuku are yet to make a statement on the Supreme Court’s conclusion that Rabuku is ineligible to be appointed as DPP.

The Supreme Court judges said that Rabuku's conduct had been described by the Independent Legal Services Commission as very serious and he was publicly reprimanded, suspended from practice for three months and fined $500.

Under the constitution, the Director of Public Prosecutions shall be appointed by the President on the recommendation of the Judicial Services Commission following consultation with the Attorney General.

We have sent questions to Attorney General Graham Leung, Acting Chief Justice Salesi Temo and Acting DPP John Rabuku.

Rabuku remains in office.
