Twelve Fijian workers that recently left Fiji for employment in Australia under the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme, have been reminded to respect their marriage vows and always remember their children and spouse as they have high hopes for them.

While speaking at their farewell, the Permanent Secretary for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations, Osea Cawaru says the Vanua, the Government and their families have faith in them that they will perform their work to the best of their abilities and also that they will abide by the contractual agreements they have signed.

He also reminded them to maintain positive personal values, which are vital in lifting and maintaining the Fijian brand.

Cawaru says these values will enable employers to provide positive feedback to the Ministry and will result in more employers visiting Fiji for more recruitment and selection of more Fijian citizens.

The 12 workers are part of the 24 that completed their 4 days Pre-Departure Briefing on Sunday.

Meanwhile, earlier this month, the Minister for Employment, Parveen Bala had issued a stern warning to Fijian workers preparing to leave for the PALM Scheme that infidelity will not be tolerated.

This was after he met a woman in Savusavu complaining about her husband having an affair in Australia.
