As excitement builds for the historic Super Rugby Pacific match at the ANZ Stadium tomorrow, Swire Shipping Fijian Drua Head of Athletic Performance Nacanieli Cawanibuka says it is an exciting journey that we all should be proud of.

While speaking on a special fijivillage Straight Talk With Vijay Narayan, Cawanibuka says Fijian players now have the opportunity to measure themselves against some of the world’s best in the 15s code.

He says we had that opportunity last week when the Drua played the Blues and our players were reassured at the end of the game that the right kind of preparation is vital to match the best in the competition.

Cawanibuka says it is the beginning of change and tomorrow provides an opportunity for our local rugby players to see the Drua players’ major transformation.

He talks about his journey, the National 7s Olympic gold medal wins in Rio in 2016 and Tokyo in 2021 and the Fijian Drua’s inaugural Super Rugby Pacific season.

The Fijian Drua face the Highlanders at 4.35pm tomorrow at the ANZ Stadium.
