Two members of the women’s Rugby World Cup 7s champions Australia has labelled the Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s team as one of the toughest opponent they have ever played against and will be a team to watch at the Hamilton 7s.
Seasoned campaigners Charlotte Caslick and Dom Du Toit says the Fijiana team play an exciting brand of rugby and with their offloading skills and free flowing style of play, it makes them one of the tough team to play against.
Meanwhile, Fijiana 7s winger Reapi Uluinasau currently leads the HSBC Sevens Series women’s offload stats with 19, heading into this weekend’s tournament.
Uluinasau is closely trailed by NZ’s Shiray Kaka and Jazmin Felix-Hotham who have 17 and 13 offloads respectively after two tournaments in the 2022/2023 World 7s Series.
The Fijiana 7s will kick-off their Hamilton 7s campaign against Great Britain at 10.22am Saturday, they will then take on New Zealand at 2.12pm in their second pool game before taking on PNG at 5.37pm on Saturday.
The women’s cup quarter finals will kick-off at 8.30am Sunday, the cup semi final will begin at 12.20pm Sunday and the cup final will be at 6.26pm Sunday.
The Fiji Airways Men’s national 7s team will play France at 8.32am Saturday in their first pool match, they will then take on Kenya at 12.00pm Saturday, before playing Samoa in their final pool match at 3.06pm Saturday.
The men’s cup quarter finals will start at 9.58am Sunday, the semi finals will begin at 1.48pm Sunday, and the final will be played at 6.56pm Sunday.
